Confusing Christmas Carols

At its best, Christmas music helps us more fully celebrate the mystery, wonder, and joy of the season. But if we’re honest, some Christmas songs are obscure, weird, or downright confusing. What do three French hens and two turtle doves have to do with the birth of the Savior? Who was Good King What’s-His-Name and should we even care? This Advent season, we will be taking a closer look at some famous Christmas carols to see how they stack up against the Word of God as they relate to the arrival of our Lord Jesus.
