What is The Discovery Course?
Discovery consists of two parts, each lasting about 30 minutes. The first part provides an opportunity to get acquainted with others and ask our pastors any questions you have about God, faith, or the church. During the second part, one of the pastors or church leaders will present one of four topics and answer questions.
Who is Discovery for?
Anyone can come to Discovery but it is particularly designed for people who fit any of the following:
- New to the church
- Seeking God but have doubts or questions
- Wanting to get better connected
- Looking for a place to serve
- Thinking about joining the church
How does Discovery fit into the Membership Process?
Attending the four Discovery sessions is the first step in the FCC membership process. The second step is completing a membership application and the third step is meeting with the elders and then making a membership commitment during a Sunday service. These sessions can be attended consecutively or whenever is convenient. The rest of the membership process is explained during Topic 4 of Discovery.
How is Discovery Offered?
Over the course of the year, Discovery is offered in three different formats. The main format is four one hour sessions on Sundays after the second service in Andover, every two or three months. Twice a year, we also offer two double sessions on two weekday evenings in Andover.
