Family life at FCC
Family Ministry at FCC offers a variety of opportunities to connect with other Christian families in order to encourage one another in our marriages, parenting, care-giving for our elderly parents, and to build lasting friendships as families.
As a ministry of Free Christian Church, anything we do focuses on inviting individuals into a relationship with Jesus Christ and a community of Christian love. It is our desire that families develop Christ-like maturity and be mobilized for service to His church and the world, and in turn bring Him glory.

Encouragement & Opportunities
As a ministry of Free Christian Church, we believe that families can be equipped and encouraged to grow in their faith and service to Jesus Christ and His Church through participation in one or more of the following offerings:
Small Group Night for Families
Wednesday nights at FCC is Family Night! Your children can participate in their midweek small group while you and your spouse participate in an adult small group. Everyone in the family is growing in their faith and you’re only out one night a week. Children can participate in the following groups or clubs that meet at the church on Wednesday evenings:
- Junior High @ the Bell House
- Pioneer Club for Girls (1-6th Grade)
- Adventure Club for Boys (1-6th Grade)
- Scooter Club for 4-5 year olds
All on-site groups meet from 6:30-8:00 PM. Groups meet on-site 3 weeks a month and offsite once a month for intergenerational time. A calendar will be provided to each family.
For your convenience: Senior High Super Groups also meet on Wednesday evenings at an off-site location and loving infant and toddler care is provided for families participating in a Family Night small group.
Serving as a Family
FCC offers a number of opportunities throughout the year to share the love of Jesus Christ with our community that can be done as a family. There will two Church-wide service days this year: November 17th and March 15th. People of all ages can help rake a senior’s yard or help serve a meal at a shelter, and there are a number of other service opportunities available. Also, on November 26th, FCC families will continue the tradition of helping deliver Thanksgiving meals to those in need in Lawrence. Start a new tradition in your home and serve together as a family!
Guest Speakers
Special guest speakers are arranged twice a year focusing on family and marriage topics. These will be announced in the bulletin. Families are encouraged to invite friends and neighbors.
Social Events for the entire family
Mid-winter Socials are a great opportunity for family members to play together and meet other church families. Three events are planned each winter or early spring. They are organized by the age of the children: infants and toddlers, preschool/kindergarten, and elementary. Families have enjoyed sledding, roller skating, and gathering for fellowship at an indoor play space as examples. These events also offer a great opportunity to introduce a friend to FCC.
The Father/Daughter Dance is an annual event sponsored by the Pioneer Club.
The Mother/Son Game night is an annual event sponsored by the Adventure Club.
